Wakanda Celebration, a non-profit division of Luangisa African Gallery, is seeking Event Volunteers for the upcoming Wakanda Celebration 8 on Saturday August 30th for various shifts from 11am-8pm and pre-event volunteers to assist with planning.
The mission of the festival is to celebrate the community, history, culture, and African pride in Westchester through art, dance, fashion, food, and more.
We are seeking several volunteers (ages 18 and up) who can assist with the organization of the celebration.
Volunteer roles include, but are not limited to:
Vendor management
Light security at various parts of the event
Fashion show assistant
Marketing support during the event
Track guests at gates entries
Check temperatures
Work at the information booth
Work at the Luangisa African Gallery
Assist with VIP guests
Monitor parking and trolley system
Assist with ID checking
Sell Wakanda merchandise
Be a runner during fashion show
Carry and lift, as needed
Volunteers will receive full access to the festival, food, and water. School credit is available. Interested volunteers should fill out the form below and we will reach out for interviews.
